1954

Incorporation of the Financial Investment and Management Company of the Azores – Finançor, S.A.

1965

Inauguration of the Finançor animal feed factory in Ponta Delgada.

1973

Foundation of the company Noviçor – Sociedade Agro-Pecuária de São Vicente Ferreira, Lda.

1974

Constitution of Agraçor, Sociedade Agropecuária Açoreana, S.A. — today Agraçor – Suínos dos Açores, S.A.

1975

Establishment of Pondel Avícola de Ponta Delgada, Lda., by a group of partners linked to poultry farming.

1976

Acquisition of the majority of the share capital of Finançor, S.A. by a group of sugar mill owners, together with some agricultural producers.

1978

Foundation of the companies Avigex – Sociedade de Empreendimentos Avícolas e de Frio, Ltda. and Granpon – Granja Avícola de Ponta Delgada, Lda..

1980

Loan granted to Finançor by the EFTA Fund for the restructuring of the milling sector.

1996

Finançor became a founding shareholder of Investaçor, SGPS, S.A., with the intention of bidding for the privatization of BCA, shifting its strategy to the tourism sector—becoming, in the following years, the second largest hotel group in the Azores.

1998

EPAC's acquisition of silos represented a key strategic asset for grain supply.

2004

Quality Management System Certification according to ISO 9001:2000 and Food Safety Management System (HACCP) in the sectors of Compound Animal Feed Production, Milling, Biscuits and Pasta Marketing.

2005

Corporate and capital restructuring, which aimed to organize the various companies owned by Finançor into a group.

2007

Finançor SGPS, S.A., through Finançor Agro-Alimentar, S.A., acquired NSL – Nicolau Sousa Lima, Indústria, SGPS, S.A., owner of Sociedade Açoreana de Sabões, S.A., Pondel – Avícola de Ponta Delgada, Lda., and Agraçor – Sociedade Agropecuária Açoreana, Ltda.

The distinction was made by the newspaper Açoriano Oriental, awarding Finançor Agro-Alimentar the title of 2nd best company in the Azores in 2006, and its President — José Manuel Almeida Braz — the Manager of the Year 2006 Award in the Azores.

2008

Capital restructuring in terms of Finançor SGPS, S.A., which led to a reduction in the number of shareholders, with the company now being owned by four shareholders (the Leite Braz family).

2009

Finançor Agro–Alimentar, S.A., incorporates through merger the companies NSL – Nicolau Sousa Lima, Indústria, SGPS, S.A. and Sociedade Açoreana de Sabões, S.A., also acquiring the Salsiçor Group, through the total acquisition of the share capital of the companies Salsiçor – Salsicharia dos Açores, S.A., Alibomcomer – Comércio Alimentar, S.A., Roque & Pavão – Indústria e Comércio Alimentar, S.A., Salsicharia Mariense, Lda. and 75% of the capital of Salsicharia Pavão, S.A.

2012

Finançor SGPS, S.A. now controls 100% of the capital of Finançor Agro-Alimentar, S.A.. Recognition of Finançor Agro-Alimentar's social responsibility policy through the awarding of the Social Responsibility Prize by the Açoriano Oriental newspaper as part of its ranking of the 100 largest companies in the Azores.

2013

Finançor Agro-Alimentar, S.A. wins the 2013 Agriculture Award in the Large Companies category, a joint initiative of Banco BPI and the Cofina Group, sponsored by the Portuguese Government and the Ministry of Agriculture, and supported by PwC.

2014

Acquisition of the Ribeira Grande Poultry Farm, allowing for a considerable increase in egg production and sales in the Azores.

2015

Acquisition of the company Provipor — which held the 2nd largest pig farm in the Azores among its assets — and the opening of Nako Talho & Take Away.

Presentation of the 2014 Manager of the Year Award, by the Açoriano Oriental newspaper, to the Vice-President of the Board of Directors — José Romão Leite Braz.

2016

Acquisition of control of Investaçor SGPS, S.A. and its subsidiaries, 20 years after the company's founding and Finançor's entry as a small shareholder. Launch, in November, of the hotel brand Azoris Hotels & Leisure, having changed the name of the hotel companies to Azoris.

2018

Beginning of the R&D project in aquaculture, through participation in the company Aquazor, which is dedicated to offshore aquaculture of fish and algae.

Acquisition of the MegaSabor business, dedicated to bread and pastry making.

Completion of investments in pig farming with the total renovation of the Provipor farm.

Complete renovation of the Azoris Angra Garden Hotel.

2019

Awarding of the Investment Project Prize — Finançor Industrial Complex by the Açoriano Oriental newspaper.

Completion of several industrial investments, most notably the inauguration of the new Ponta Delgada Industrial Complex, which includes: a wheat mill; a biscuit factory and a bakery and pastry shop; a new meat processing and transformation unit on Terceira Island; and a new breeding hen farm.

2020

Acquisition of the companies Marques Comércio Varejista and Marques Comércio Atacadista.

Start of operations at Salsiçor Terceira's new industrial unit.

2021

Publication of the 1st Sustainability Report (referring to 2020).
Reopening of the Santa Maria store under the Pingo Doce banner.

2022

Reabertura de 3 lojas com insígnia Pingo Doce, localizadas em Vila Franca do Campo, Valados e Capelas.

2023

Publication of the 2nd Sustainability Report (referring to 2021-2022)

2024

New Frozen Food Logistics Center at Finançor Cash & Carry.

Signing of the Protocol with GreenVolt – a partnership to accelerate Finançor's decarbonization and sustainability plan, which foresees the installation of a total of 3.5 MW of photovoltaic solar panels.

Creation of the Dionísio Raposo Leite Merit Scholarship, which aims to support students from the Autonomous Region of the Azores who wish to pursue higher education outside their area of ​​residence.

Inauguration of the ninth Pingo Doce store on Faial Island.

Reopening of 1 Pingo Doce store on the island of São Miguel, in São Gonçalo.

2025

In 2025, the Finançor Group was distinguished by the Portuguese Association for Quality (APQ) with the “José Carlos Dâmaso” Award, an award that honors leading figures in the field of Quality in the Azores Archipelago.

In March 2025, the first "Management Meeting" of the Finançor Group was held, an event that highlights the importance of strengthening the organizational culture in order to ensure that objectives are transformed into concrete results.

In 2025, the Pingo Doce store on Pico Island was inaugurated.
