Social Responsibility

The concept of Sustainability is central to our vision of Social Responsibility.

In 2017, we publicly committed to the Sustainable Development Goals declared by the United Nations by adhering to the Azores Sustainability Charter, as a founding member of the Azores Sustainability Charter, thus becoming part of "an integrated vision to make the Azores a global benchmark for sustainable tourism, recognized as a leader in the implementation of best practices and responsible resource management".

In 2011 and 2012 we were awarded the Social Responsibility Prize by the Azores Top 100 Companies Magazine. These awards are recognition of Finançor's Social Responsibility practices.

We implement our quality, environmental, and community relations policies, supporting various institutions.

Our community

Fostering a close and trusting relationship with local communities is one of the fundamental pillars of the Finançor Group's operation. Given that it operates in sectors critical to the Azores region, the Group is aware of its responsibility to help and drive the region's communities towards prosperity.

In this sense, the Finançor Group is dedicated to developing initiatives and actions, particularly through its connection with the food chain, through which it is possible to have a direct influence on combating hunger and malnutrition. The agri-food sector is particularly impactful socially, as it directly influences food supply, food security and quality, fair pricing practices, and the livelihoods of small businesses and communities. Therefore, combating hunger and malnutrition is crucial in addressing the social and environmental challenges of the food system and ensuring sustainable practices.

Aware of its role, and within the scope of its Sustainability Strategy, the Finançor Group seeks to develop joint actions annually with different organizations that operate within communities through the donation of food products or money.

Here are some initiatives that have been completed and are currently underway:

  • Food bank against hunger
  • Social Groups (of: children, young scouts and others)
  • Parish Centers
